About Sasha

Sasha Gorelova is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at Royal Columbian Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center in British Columbia. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelors of Biopharmaceutical Sciences Honours in Medicinal Chemistry in 2017 and received her Diploma in Respiratory Therapy at Thompson Rivers University in 2021.

After her undergraduate degree, Sasha was exploring further career opportunities where she could help others, work with children, be apart of a team and get hands-on experience. Being a respiratory therapist offered all of the above and more. Respiratory therapists, the unsung heroes of hospitals, treat and care for patients of all ages with various conditions. They work in all areas of the hospital helping patients’ breath better.

Sasha has had the opportunity to work in specialized units including adult and neonatal intensive care, emergency trauma departments, cardiac intensive care, as well as pulmonary function and sleep apnea clinics. Her career has given her the opportunity to impact patients lives in the hospital and community by sharing her expertise, knowledge and compassion. She is eager to work on a platform where she is able to educate others about their conditions and how to improve their lives through breathing!

Outside of the hospital, Sasha enjoys nature, travelling, film photography and all the beauty British Columbia has to offer. In her free time, you can find her hiking, canoeing, skiing, camping or surfing!
